Dock Storage

Dock storage is a very common solution for boat storage. With this convenient method, your boat remains in the water, secured to pilings or cleats with mooring lines. However, there are some pretty significant drawbacks to dock storage. This storage method exposes your boat to the elements, leaving it vulnerable to corrosion. It also tends to provide very little protection from theft. For these reasons, we do not recommend dock storage as a long-term solution, especially not during the winter months.

Dry Storage

Dry storage involves storing your boat above the water level, either on land or on a boat lift. This method makes it easier to clean, inspect, and perform maintenance on your boat. However, dry storage still leaves your boat exposed to the weather, which can result in wear and tear. That’s why some boaters choose to shrinkwrap their boats for an added layer of protection. When combined with shrinkwrapping, dry storage offers a practical and convenient option for storing your boat over the winter, while being a cost-effective alternative to indoor storage.

Indoor Storage

Although indoor storage can be expensive, it offers the best protection for your boat. If you are fortunate enough to have a garage or storage shed large enough to accommodate your boat, this is your best option. However, there are also plenty of indoor boat storage facilities that can house your boat for a monthly fee. These purpose-built facilities are designed to safeguard and protect your boat throughout the winter season.
